Understanding the Needs of Urban Inuit Women
In 2017, Pauktuutit completed a research report across five major Canadian urban centers titled, Understanding the Needs of Urban Inuit Women, funded by Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada through their Urban Aboriginal Strategy program. The purpose of this research was to better understand why Inuit women were moving to the south, the services urban Inuit women access, and to identify the gaps in services for Inuit women in urban centers. The final portion of this report includes a list of recommendations based on what we heard from the Inuit women we interviewed. Special thank you to all those who participated and shared their experiences.
You can read the full report along with infographics and fact sheets on the findings by click each document listed on the left.
