Sivumuapallianiq – Journey Forward Project
Phase I (2005-2007). For this phase Pauktuutit is:
- Engaging Inuit survivors, their families, their communities and other stakeholders in a discussion about the legacy of residential schools
that will increase awareness of the issues and stimulate readiness for healing;
- Developing recommendations for healing among Inuit from the affects of residential schools
- Making a significant contribution to the public record on the history of residential schools and their affects on survivors, families,
communities, and Inuit culture in Canada, from an Inuit perspective.
Phase II, 2007 -2010. Pauktuutit will develop resource materials, provide support to local and regional initiatives, and monitor policy development
related to the Strategy.
